Stop Smoking Success Step
The next thing you need to take care of is your “smoking area”. This is the place that reminds you of smoking and you need to take care of this area before you continue on your road to success.
Remove Cigarettes
By getting rid of all the things that tempt you to resume smoking will go far in ensuring your smoke-free campaign works to your benefit. Try the following ideas for inspiration:
· Clean all the areas where cigarette smoke has ever come in contact with. Clean your car, work area, drapes and your clothing (don’t forget your winter, summer and spring coats). Clean your car by either bringing it to a car detailer, or shampoo the car yourself. Buy a car freshener and buy yourself some bright, cheerful and aromatic flowers. You will be amazed as to how many smells you’ve missed and how quickly your sense of smell will return to you after a period of time.
· Throw away absolutely every cigarette, lighters, matches and ashtray. Basically everything that could remind you of smoking.
· Go to the dentist and have all your teeth cleaned and get rid of the smoke stains and make every effort to keep them clean.
· Above all, don’t keep a pack of cigarettes for administering the “just in case” philosophy. If it’s there, you are tempted. You must be temptation free!
Other Forms of Cigarettes
Any form of tobacco is just as harmful to your body as regular cigarettes. Don’t start your quitting campaign by “weaning” off of regular cigarettes by moving to light or low-tar cigarettes. Tar is not your addictive substance, nicotine is still prevalent in all types of cigarettes and that keeps you addicted. Smokeless tobacco, cigars, pipes and herbal cigarettes are just as harmful.
You need to remember, ALL tobacco products have harmful, if not, deadly chemicals and poisons.
