Getting rid of the “Nicotine Over Lord”
Learning how to quit smoking is no easy task, especially if you’ve been smoking for a great many years. There are many websites and government agencies that cater to helping you to quit smoking, but, the truth of the matter is you’re entering into a partnership between yourself and your life. It is not a quick and easy process and anyone who tells you otherwise is only fooling themselves and you.
This series of articles will look at the four major steps involved in any vice stopping process: thinking about quitting, which is the most important step of all; preparing to quit and the plan and medicines available to help with this step; actually quitting and how to stay on track; and, finally, what you need to do to keep in the quitting mode. Much like a person suffering from alcoholism, there are many support groups and mediums that can be accessed to keep you smoke-free.
One of the most important steps of all before even starting to look at quitting is to look at the many agencies and websites available to you that will keep you on track and stay on track. These support services should all be researched and reviewed along with your strong desire to quit and breathe the air you’re missing.
Why Quit?
There is a huge quantity of studies and qualitative research on the effects of smoking on the body, lungs, skin and a person’s general well-being. I’m sure that you’ve never thought of how much smoking effects a person in general including how it affects a person’s mood swings. You may or may not be aware that nicotine addiction, caused by cigarettes, act not only as a stimulant but also as a depressant. Nicotine’s role inside the body is regulating the level of activity that is found in the key parts of your brain and inside the central nervous system that controls your overall sense of well-being.
